There are many different ways to get to know Florence, a small city but packed with art and history. In fact the city has maintained its medieval and renaissance urban structure so that a walk in the centre is just like opening a history book: you don't even need to read. Just look around and in a second you'll be able to jump on a time machine and head back to the past centuries. We guides can hold the wheel and drive you around!

Soon you'll land at the end of the 13th century, in front of the huge and colourful cathedral. Oh, look at that strange clock at the top, listen to the unbelievable story of the dome construction.

.
Now the time machine flies again and touches the ground on the medieval plaza dominated by the townhall: who was arrested and kept in the horrible small tower cell? What do all those crests on top mean?

Not far away the Basilica devoted to the Holy Cross opens up its ancient gates and reveals the secrets of the Franciscan friars. Down the aisles of the church Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli still sleep in their tombs.

In the Basilica Santa Maria Novella light comes in through the stained-glass windows and illuminates the frescoes where Michelangelo's master Ghirlandaio shows the Florence of his time as a new Gerusalem: Why though is the Patriarch of Costatinople buried in the church?

Let's reset the navigator now and land into the life of the most exstraordinary family of Florence: the Medici, the lords of the city for 300 years. Let's open the gate of their spectacular residences and find how they lived there: Medici Palace, the apartments in the townhall, Pitti Palace. How could they possibly warm up so many rooms in winter? Where did they sleep? What did they eat? How did they amuse themselves?

How do you like gardens? They are beautiful in every season, but when spring comes, it's magic. Shall we go together to the Boboli gardens and find that this world of beauty was a real “supermarket” for their owners, the Medici of course? In a corner of these vast gardens we'll admire the most ancient rose species blossoming in May, and among them the “Maiden brush”, a delicate rose, the same one dipicted by Botticelli in his "Birth of Venus".

One more click on the navigator and we'll penetrate into the most extrordinary museums of Florence: the Uffizi Galleries with Leonardo and Michelangelo's paintings, Pitti painting gallery where we'll find 13 Raphaels and 11 Titians, The Bargello Museum crowded with the most striking statues of the renaissance, St Mark Museum, a real trip into the charming and peaceful atmosphere of a 15th century monastery where each of the 35 cells where the friars used to live shows lovely  frescoes dipicted by Fra Angelico.

Want to see mithical David by Michelangelo? Sure, but (hard to believe) this is not the only statue  left in Florence by the great genius. Let us lead you to the Medici Chapels and you'll be surrounded by Michelangelo's breathtaking statues.

How would you like to slowly follow the gentle curves of the Arno river on a boat trip to enjoy the view of the city from the water, taking unusual pictures of the Ponte Vecchio.

Or do you prefer riding on horse back or hiking in the Tuscan countryside?

When culture becomes overwhelming, how about wondering through the small medieval roads in search for the traditional craftmen's workshops to buy their unique items: something that will make you think about Florence for the rest of your life.
